| An Open
Letter from President, Gary Runciman to the friends of Boatland:
Thank you for a great 2007!
Our 46th year was a tremendous one for the industry and
our company thanks to the patronage of so many loyal
customers. We had a lot of fun working with many new
customers as well as many that have been with us for years
(you know who you are!). We participated in one very big
show at the Indiana State Fairgrounds and hosted our own
Open House sale. We'll do it all again this
year- we hope to see you at our events. Keep tuned in
to our events page for the details.
Each
year seems to be more rewarding than the previous one.
This year (2007) Boatland has been recertified as a
Sea Ray Master Dealer (That makes 11 years in a row!!). This achievement is a
direct result of a dedicated staff who believe as I do we
can always be better. We are looking forward to 2007
and the years beyond. We anticipate the next 46
years to be as rewarding as the last 46 have been!
Thanks again and see you on the
water!
Gary Runciman, President
A Brief
History of Boatland
Established in 1961, Boatland was founded with the
intention of bringing families together through
recreation. As is true today, the company was founded on
the belief that those who work hard, also want to play
hard, and they want to deal with others who treat them
like family.
Following
their father's retirement in 1976, brothers Gary and Lee
Runciman assumed the responsibility for day-to-day
operations. They knew then that the company was poised
for growth, and grow it did. Over the next ten years,
they added over 44,000 square feet of space. This
included a new state-of-the-art service department, a
parts and accessories department, a fiberglass repair
and a storage facility. The recent purchase of 4 additional
acres with a new 30,000 sq. foot storage facility, allows
Boatland the ability to supply all of your boating needs.
These new facilities are ran by seasoned staff. In fact,
members of the sales, service, and business departments
regularly attend schools and seminars to hone their skills
and increase their knowledge; in order to provide unsurpassed
value to Boatland's customers. Boatland also has a long-standing
system to check its progress with customers.
Today,
Boatland has become the standard to follow for all marine
dealers throughout Indiana. Boatland is still family owned
and is operated with those original values and beliefs.
Customers, then as now, are treated to the very best products
and services - what President Gary Runciman refers to
as "The Dream". Quotes Runciman, "I
have always believed that "If you think it's perfect
it's time to raise your standards."
